ThisIsCxlture,

Birmingham, England, United Kingdom Birmingham, England, United Kingdom

  • About the event

This is Culture is a boutique of talented individuals focusing, but not limited to representing the youth

The focus is to celebrate the young people who are talented in their own respective fields. To help encourage the youth that have dreams but may not have the confidence, support or environment to follow them.

This is culture consists of a fashion show and live performers ranging from singers, poets, dancers, rappers and beat boxers. The night will end in a big celebration session.  This event is not just about the clothing or the talents it's about creating an atmosphere of being young, creative and unified.

This year we will be focusing greatly on the Black Lives Matter movement. There have been a lot of unjust and cruel actions taken against people of colour.

Why is this relevant in England?

Because over 1500 people have died in police custody most of them were black. People of colour are 37% more likely to be stopped and searched.Since brexit there has been a 57% rise in racist crimes.

The list can go on as as these we support the black lives matter movement to also show support to those suffering in America and across the world.

It is important we take action to recieve justice and over come a system that has been set up against us but to do that we must also remember how important it is to be unified as well as to celebrate how great, intelligent, creative and talented we are as race and that right there is

    This is cxlture

    Why should you sponsor?

I've always loved the arts ever since I could remember it's all i could do. Academically speaking I was okay..... I passed with good grades actually but after a lot of frustration and anxiety.
You know After high school I swore to myself  will never do another exam, and I haven't ever since. college. I did btec fashion and clothing and currently studying fashion communication and styling in university however considering a business degree.

I never ever want to work for anyone I refuse, I rebuke it, I deny that in Jesus name.
I wanna be my own boss lady out here haha.
If you don't like the system then change it right?
I  have huge dreams I want to take ThisIsCulture far, world wide in-fact, I get anxious sometimes about all the ideas that I have and you know sometimes, well all the time I doubt who, where and how i'm going to accomplish everything in my head and heart, but I have a very merciful and God he gives me faith and brighter look to the future. I Seriously believe everyone has a purpose everyone was born with a reason for living, i don't think life happens just to happen. theres a fire burning witin me ethat keep pushing me to do more to almost like finish my mission hahaha it sounds silly but yeah.
i wanna help people live out there dreams there talents i want to see people win ans sucseed, that gives me inspiration.
I'm surround by some talent people man and they got gifts I wanna see them shine the lord i himself explains how important it is for us to use our gifts otherwise it would be a complete disservice to him.

making ThisIsCulture international is the dream, helping young people of colour have their moment.
Eventually I want to start my own organisation and charities, helping young youth of colour in various countries live out thier passion whilst also receiving education.
I personally know that in a lot African countries doing something within the arts is not a option offered to children, often there's a pressure to be a doctor a lawyer, accountant ect.... but not everyone wants be those things, those are not their dreams. some just wanna sing I know there some boys and girls out there that want to just dance and there raised to believe they cant make career out it but you can, you just gotta work, gotta work real hard for it its tough  but it not out the question.

I'm young but i need to makethings happen i dont ever want to look back on my life and regret not at least trying.
i don't want took back and wish i ha lived out my dreams . because what if just maybe this is exactly what i was made for, what if this is my calling? i feel it i really do.

Sponsor me if you want to be involved in something great.

sponsor me to make dreams come true

sponsor me and you will not regret it.

    nomalizo muhlwa

    My name is Nomalizo

I am 19 years of age, that may seem a bit  young, but im determined, I have lots ideas and big dreams.

I'm deeply into creative arts as well as giving back or in others adding positivity to as many people's lives I can. Ever since I was young i've wanted this, i've longed and planned and now I want  to take action.

I'm a first year fashion student studying Fashion communication and styling.

I believe there are certain characteristics one needs to succeed in any industry such as creativity, the ability to generate ideas a productive and proactive approach, determination and the skill to work with others I believe I I'm the above I show this in different ways, I have determination as I am as I am trilingual, I have retained three languages fluently English, Shona and Ndebele.
I'm a strong team player who often demonstrates high levels of enthusiasm working with and around others. Growing up I learned the importance of confidence when it comes to dealing with workspace allowing me to display a strong sense of authority when handling costumers, thus implementing rules and regulations of the work place. Further demonstrating a capacity to work at an executive position.
I love helping people and making sure I'm doing something about it, so even as a youth a collect large amounts of shoe boxes to take part in the shoe box appeal and I put in a request for a school to allow me to come and present to a class that would help me fill the boxes and understand their meaning as well as where they're be going to. I bought in supplies such as toothpaste, pencils, pens soap, and small light books. The presentation went very well and the boxes where able to reach children that were struggling in less fortunate countries. I took the imitative to use empathy towards an action that would benefit the majority
