About the event
'The Soul Local: Chapter 1 powered by VH1 and Comedy Central' , was one of the innumerable chapters of a book. A book, that Calcutta Cacophony has decided to turn the pages of. This book speaks of Calcutta. Calcutta's people. Calcutta's culture. It speaks about a Calcuttan's Dream. It narrated the story of Calcutta: An Emotion.
It was on 24th of September 2016 , Calcutta Cacophony promised to stage the local talents from Calcutta's lanes. And what did we all get? A musical, funny, fantastic, and extravagant evening.
A footfall of over 2000 people from tha age of 15 to 30 graced the event, where local artists performed and studenst set up stalls, ranging from food and drinks to jewellery to cupcakes. NGOs such as 'Like a Dog'.The second chapter of this book is to happen again this September 16th, bigger and better.
Be a part of this journey through an artists dream and we won't let you down.
We call ourselves Calcutta's very own festival and we want it to be the only one.
Why should you sponsor?
The Soul Local is a youth initiative and it requires a lot of cost saing as we are not generally provided financially. We want to bring out what the youth can do and it would be a great support when any established brand stands with the youth to support the cause of giving local artists a bigger platform to perform.

This initiative was started by me and my friend with little help from anyone and last year luckily it was a huge success. Unfortunately it was self sponsored as we sold off our old books to collect cash for the same. We had to do this with minimal money and took loans from our own family.
This time, however, we have something much bigger in mind and we would need financial help. We don't want it to be basic but would want the place to be lit.
