The Poly Session,

The Poly, Falmouth, England, United Kingdom The Poly, Falmouth, England, United Kingdom

  • About the event

9LIVE Productions presents ‘THE POLY SESSION’ the climax show of the recurring ‘Thursday Sessions’ held every two weeks at Truro College. With a change of venue, to the beautiful Poly in Falmouth, this is a one night event of incredible music played by local college bands all in aid of a great cause ‘Teenage Cancer Trust’.

Cancer can affect any family at any time however it can be even more devastating when it impacts a teenager or young adult. Around seven young people aged between 13 and 24 are diagnosed with cancer every day in the UK. They need expert treatment and support from the moment they hear the word ‘cancer.’ Teenage Cancer Trust is a community for young people, bringing everyone together to make the experience of having cancer not so isolating, by providing life-changing care and support this means young people don’t have to face cancer alone.

After weeks of ‘Thursday Sessions’ and multiple bands, duos and solo artists, we have come to conclude this music frenzy. With one night jam packed full of your favourite bands playing and supporting young people just like them, run completely by students for students.

    Why should you sponsor?

It is a full CHARITY event with a large backing from students and families and has a gaurenteed audience. With a great cause, awesome bands and a wonderful production crew it will be a fantastic event for a variety of ages.

The event already has a following with the students showing interest and we are setting up a lot of advertising for social networking and websites to press releases and posters so there is plenty of places for your logo to be seen.

We are a student run production company made up of a small team of 9, with a large college following and lots experiance under our belts. We've worked inside and outside the college working with bands such as 'The Sensless Things' doing visuals for their london gig, Teenage Cnacer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall, Shambala Festival, 'Wolf Note' making a music video. As well as all these outside gigs and events we've done plenty of music, drama, dance and musical theatre shows within college.

The production crew each has their own specific area in which we have improved our skills in and would like to work towards as our future careers, form lighting engineers, sound engineers, and visual technicians to stage and events managers as well as props and sets specialists, so you can expect a good show with a lot of interesting and unique features.
