The Plug Pop Up is a pop up concept that allows Holiday shoppers to patronize small, minority owned businesses. “The Plug” is a colloquial term referring to a person or place where you can get everything you need. This event is not like a typical pop up, as it includes an open bar of finely curated cocktails, sponsored gift bags, and a live DJ. It tendency to attract the tastemakers and influencers of New York City.
A sponsor should support this event for a couple reasons. For one, it attracts a great deal of tastemakers, influencers and bloggers in New York City, and especially Brooklyn. Many of our guests have large social media followings with people who look to them to know what’s “cool”. Secondly, we’re doing this event in association with media companies OkayAfrica and Okayplayer, both of which have a followings of a few hundred thousand people. Their reach is global, and a sponsor will have their logo on all social media posts on these outlets.
A sponsor should trust me because this is the third year in a row I’ve done this event. This is the first year I’ve seeked out sponsorship, as I wanted to build up the event first to what it is now. In addition to this event, I am part of several other companies that throw events, who have asked me to become a part of their teams. As a result, I currently throw several different types of unique experiences throughout New York City.
