About the event

Golf: the international language of business, the place where deals are made, the forum where you build your reputation.

The Golf Classis is all about learning 1) how to golf and 2) the art of networking outside a corporate (or formal) atmosphere. Golf is one sport/skill that a lot of students and young professionals do not know. The University of Cincinnati Business Fellows Alumni Association host this event to spend time with professionals who know the skills on the green and know the skills of networking. 

The Golf Classic will be held at Top Golf on March 31st, 2018 from 9am – Noon. Attendance is estimated to be 55/60 people.

The morning will include networking, time on the range, game play, food, drinks and a dedicated staff for any other party needs.

Makeda Matthews

I am currently the President of the University of Cincinnati Busienss Fellows Alumni Association. 

Business Fellows is an administered program within the Carl H. Lindner College of Business at the University of Cincinnati. The first and only of its kind. It was created to specifically support students who are African American, Hispanic or Native American. Business Fellows provides access to a network of resources and opportunities that enable and empower these students to excel. The Alumni Association was created to expand that experience after graduation. 

I am currently at Lbrands, Inc (parent company of Victoria's Secret, Bath & Body Works, PINK, Henri Bendel & La Senza) in the Procurement organization managing a plethora of non-merch/indirect business units. 

A few things I am passionate about include leadership development, writing, attending events with live music and art. Outside of work, you can probably find me traveling the world. I've enjoyed the sandy beaches of Copacabana, the waves of Lima, fresh coffee in Bogota, fish & chips in London and the climb that is the Great Wall of China.
