About the event

The Comedy Poster Awards is a competition celebrating the best artwork at the world-renowned Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

There are two categories: the Audience Award (voted for by the public), and Panel Award (chosen by a judging panel).

Online voting attracts tens of thousands of comedy fans, whilst a lively awards ceremony - taking place in Edinburgh during August - is attended by comedians and industry figures.

• The CPAs are a prestigious event at the world’s biggest festival of live comedy - the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

• The first stage is an online competition for all comedy show posters, running across the Summer.

• Public voting elicits enthusiastic social network engagement, with thousands of comedy enthusiasts (including the comedians’ friends, family and fans) voting for their favourite posters.

• The high-energy, fun-spirited awards ceremony in August, attended by comedians and industry figures, reveals the winners.

• Each year the awards are hosted by a top comedian. In our first year we had RUSSELL KANE, the second was MCed by ANDREW MAXWELL and the third ceremony was hosted by SAM SIMMONS. Last year LOU SANDERS was in charge. This year’s host will be booked with our sponsor’s involvement.
