For the fourth consecutive year, The Elmont Cultural center presents the Elmont Juneteenth Celebration Festival in partnership with the Elmont Alumni Network Eagles and a team of community-based organizations and community members come together to create the Elmont Juneteenth Festival. In our first year, hundreds were in attendance, in our second year coming out of the pandemic we saw a tripple in attendance as well as sponsorships and donations from The Sesame Workshop, the New York Jets, Liberty coca-Cola and more. .During our third celebration in honor the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop and its impact on the Black community and the world we honored Hip Hop Changemakers from the community including Ralph McDaniels the founder of the first HipHop Video Music Show Video Music Box Ralph McDaniels, Elmont Natives and Carl Lamarre Director of Hip Hop & R&B at BillBoard and Filmographer Danny "New Vegas" Marsala Our celebration has demonstrated the significance of this historical celebration in the African-American community of Elmont and the Elmont community at large.. Due to the efforts of this festival and the community's support. This year we will continue to create a multi-arts experience that recognizes and celebrates the rich heritage of Juneteenth. Moreover, the Elmont Juneteenth Festival incorporates activities and volunteer opportunities for underserved community members of all ages and the Elmont community at large to create additional educational experiences. We anticipate a well-attended event and invite you to be a part of this unique celebration of heritage, music, art and community. FOLLOWING OUR INCEPTION, THE CORPORATION REMAINED DORMANT FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS, BEFORE BECOMING REENERGIZED IN 2018. WITH A RENEWED FOCUS ON PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION AND WITH A RECOGNITION OF EXEMPTION UNDER IRC 501 (C)(3), WE CONTINUOUSLY WORK TOWARDS GREAT PROGRAMS TO ENRICH OUR COMMUNITIES WITH THE TOOLS TO SUCCEED.
