Help Us Make Pink Lemon-Aid

As the saying goes, “When life gives you lemons,” … Typically our Tea for Mammograms is held each May, but when COVID-19 escalated, we postponed to the Fall in hopes of gathering in-person. Unfortunately, social distancing and safety precautions are still at a level which prevents this from happening.

Breast cancer doesn’t stop for a global pandemic. So, we are asking for your help as we make pink lemon-aid with our first ever virtual event! Our community needs your help now! The Tea for Mammograms fundraiser supports the UPMC Pinnacle Mammogram Voucher Program (MVP), which provides free mammograms and potentially life-saving diagnostic screening.

Our new virtual event will provide you direct engagement opportunities with our loyal attendees.

We would love to partner with you and hear how we can make this new platform more engaging for you. Where does the value lie for you: brand recognition, speaking opportunities, sharing links with attendees? As we work through the next norm, we know everyone’s needs are different. We also acknowledge that the current market has put a squeeze (sorry for the lemon pun) on everyone’s budgets. We have an assortment of opportunities to meet everyone’s needs.

What’s new this year?

• Sponsorship video opportunities
• Links for attendees to contact you directly
• Catered meals for each reservation, delivered to in the greater Harrisburg area
• Silent auction solicitation

We will be using a virtual venue to “house” our event. This online presence allows us to create a unique sponsor area. This can include a link to a webpage of your choosing, coupons, videos, digital files, contact information, etc. If you would like to provide logo items we can include these in our swag bags, distributed before the event. This engagement space will open one week prior to the livestreamed event. This year, we will also have a silent auction and hope you will consider including a gift basket or item. Your sponsorship will include boxed tea brunch meals for each reservation, delivered to one address per sponsorship. Once we receive your attendee names and email addresses they will be provided unique login credentials to attend.

Why should you sponsor?

Our tea time may be a little later than usual, but we are looking forward to our first virtual pink hat party! There is no denying 2020 has been quite a lemon. COVID-19 has impacted many things but Breast Cancer does not pause for a pandemic. Join us as we gather virtually for a cup of tea to aid our community as we raise money for the Mammogram Voucher Program (MVP).

The Tea for Mammograms has raised over $870,000 since 2009 and provided services to more than 4,000 women. The MVP program is supported soley by private donations.

Teri Jakob

Teri Jakob has 10 plus years of experience with event planning from board
meetings and luncheons to fantastic galas and golf tournaments for
more than 300 guests. As the 2016 recipient of the Conference for
Women Goodwill Ambassador award, Teri exemplifies community
outreach, philanthropy and leadership in our community.
Design and oversee program development: including event design,
profit and loss; printing and distribution of event related materials
for non-profit fundraising events, board meetings, socials and
programs; manage customer relations and provided amazing
service to customers. Event solicitation totals range from $250 to
$200,000. Effectively manage budgets for events, grossing greater
than $450,000 annually.
