About the event
TYMS is a youth-led organization that aims to educate and inspire high school students in the region of Peel in the field of mathematics. Our organization revolves around 3 main principles:

Forming crucial connections between mathematics and our daily-lives.

Using mathematics to find innovative solutions for prominent global issues.

Understanding mathematics from new perspectives that go beyond the classroom.
For our inaugural year, we plan on hosting a plethora of professional speakers, interactive workshops, competitions etc. that adhere to our 3 main principles. You can help us out by contributing a monetary amount that will be used to fund our events, offering space at your institution/office, nominating a speaker from your institution/office, or partnering up with us to organize an event. Please keep in mind that any contributions from your company/organization will be used to fuel a group of future leaders and innovators.

I, Nicole, am a grade 10 student with an extended interest for the field of mathematics. Throughout my high school journey, I have found most extracurriculars to be focused towards the fields of science, technology, and engineering, and have observed a lack of opportunity for students interested in the field of mathematics. Hence, I along with 8 other high school students from schools in my region decided to take my passion for mathematics further by starting the Peel region’s very first mathematical society, The Youth Mathematical Society (TYMS). -
