About the event
The Force is strong at Celina's Main Street and Historic Square in Downtown Celina, Texas on Saturday, October 21! Join us for out of this world fun at the 3rd Annual Star Wars on the Square event. This year promises to be bigger and better than ever with free family friendly favorites such as build your own lightsaber, trivia contest, Padawan Fitness Academy, costume contest, Escape from Scariff obstacle course, cardboard spaceship contest, themed music, free hot dogs (while supplies last) and more. Plus, new activities including Jedi mind tricks and lightsaber training! You may also see a few familiar faces from a galaxy far, far away, so everyone is encouraged to dress as their favorite Star Wars character! All the activities begin at 4:00pm and wrap up approximately at 7:00pm, followed by an outdoor showing of Rogue One (PG-13). Bring your folding chairs and blankets for the lawn. Food vendors will be available, too. Be sure to visit the Celina Main Street and Historic Square Facebook page for updates and news. And, May The Force Be With You!
Why should you sponsor?
Celina is a fast growing city in Collin County. Our population is expected to triple to over 30,000 in the next 30 months! Our 3rd Annual Star Wars Night on the Square is coming up in October in downtown Celina (about 20 minutes north of Frisco) This is a VERY popular community event and we expect to attract a crowd size of 1,000+. The next installment of Star Wars (Episode IX - The Last Jedi) will be released in theaters in December, so there will be a lot of external marketing that should help create additional buzz about this event.
Most of the people who attend are parents with young children (ages 4-12 usually), which is a strong demographic for any business looking to grow. Although most people will be from Celina, we also attract people from Gunter, Prosper, McKinney, Frisco, Denton, Wylie and more. The reach is very good! Marketing for the event is posted on just about all community calendars - for a sample of marketing featured in Plano Magazine, please click here.
The event isn't possible without sponsors. I've attached the most current sponsor form on what is available (subject to change depending on what has been sold since it was last published). Sponsor opportunities will sell-out, so I recommend you make a decision sooner rather than later on whether you'd like to participate or not. You are free to be on-site the day of the event and distribute information to attendees and collect potential customer contact info (a raffle prize normally works very well for this). The size of the crowd should almost guarantee new customers for your business and therefore you can recover the cost of sponsorship fairly easy.
The profits raised from this event are used to support other Main Street Programs, such as Christmas on the Square, Friday Night Market, Cajunfest, etc.
I am a resident of Celina and also the lead volunteer for the Main Street Movie Committee. I have been involved with the group for the past three years. I enjoy spending my time organizing and promoting these events to enhance the quality of life for my fellow residents and create a unique experience for kids and families.
