  • About the event

SPARK is a completely student-run event that brings together the STEAM leaders of tomorrow. 150 hackers get 24 hours to invent and build a software or hardware project and then pitch it to a panel of qualified judges. SPARK gives youth the opportunity to showcase their skills in programming, robotics, communication and teamwork in a positive learning environment.

    Why should you sponsor?

Our mission is to inspire high school students to explore and pursue innovative projects and careers in technology. With your help, we can give these future innovators the opportunity to receive first- hand experience and SPARK a passion for science, technology, engineering and mathematics! SPARK allows corporations to directly work with and recruit youth as well as promote their products and services. It allows for students to find role models and opportunities for success in the STEM fields.

    Gurleen Badwal

I am one of the chairs and the current Head of Corporate Relations for SPARK 2019. I have been growing this event since its creation in 2018 and have worked to raise funds, and recruit corporate partners for successful event execution. I have experience both attending and hosting hackathons and I am fully supported by a team of dedicated and passionate youth who strive to "spark" an interest in STEM wherever they go. I fully believe that any donation is just an investment in the potential-filled future of youth in the GTA!
