Silver Linings Gala,

The Forth, Old Toronto, Toronto, Ontario, Canada The Forth, Old Toronto, Toronto, Ontario, Canada

  • About the event

The Silver Linings Gala is a celebration of four years of a women's speaker series called Spoken Lives: Stories Women Share. We have 2 locations in Toronto.

There will be 200 people, primarily women over 40, who will gather at a boutique venue called The Forth, on the Danforth in Toronto. It will start out with a cocktail reception with live music and a few other surprises. Women will celebrate each other and visit our sponsor tables.

The program will include speakers and a celebrity sharing their wonderful stories. We will also have 5 items to auction with a live auctioneer to raise funds for 2 charities that have been selected. These charities support (primarily) women who find themselves in tough situations.

This event is a feel good event to celebrate getting through the tough bits life presents, to discover the Silver Linings. It's much like Chicken Soup for the Soul, live!

    Why should you sponsor?

These 200 women are primarily professional women who are ready to face the stories that we live and celebrate the silver linings of these experiences. Our audience is dedicated and loyal to our sponsors. We will work with you to highlight what you do in creative ways that make the message "sticky" in the minds of our audience. There is an ongoing opportunity to be involved with our regular events during the year.

Elizabeth Verwey owns and operates Office Mentors and has been mentoring small business owners for over 20 years. Elizabeth has 2 children and 2 grandchildren.

After 36 years of marriage and a late life divorce, she began hosting events in her home to bring women together to share their stories. They quickly outgrew her space and there are now two locations established in Toronto. Elizabeth plans to grow chapters across the country. This is her passion - to support women to take the stage and share their stories. These events have shaped them and led them to be the success they are today.
