About the event
The Sapphire Beauty Expo is poised to become the largest Beauty & Fashion Expo in New Haven. Check it out, Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Greenberg Conference Center 391 Prospect St New Haven, CT from 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. For this celebration of beauty, Sapphire Beauty has collaborated with many of the industry’s largest names, including CURLS, Design Essentials and Mixed Chicks who are providing everything from live styling demonstrations to product giveaways and gifts. This beauty expo is designed for beauty industry professionals, and those looking for beauty tips, advice on hair products, and fashion trends with the goal of empowering the community.
Sapphire Beauty is pleased to announce we have added lectures on the Toxicity & Disease Connection by Naturopath Valli Manley and Hairloss Solutions by Certified Natural Health Practitioner Donyelle McBride of McBride Hair Restoration.
The expo will end with a fashion show featuring the designs of Elle Dot Key, Instyllation, L’Ariel, Stallion Designs and The House of Donald Carter.
In addition, the Sapphire Beauty Marketplace will feature a curated selection of several small businesses with highly coveted items in fashion, jewelry, accessories and more.
Why should you sponsor?
The Sapphire Beauty Expo will provide an opportunity to unite the supporters of the local beauty industry, to promote self-love, and combat societal norms that lead to self-hate and low self-esteem. The Sapphire Beauty Expo is an initiative aimed to draw attention to the importance of unity in our communities, relationship building on a grand scale and bring attention to women embracing their beauty thus creating an empowering experience.
Sapphire BeautyKandice is a self-proclaimed naturalista and president of Sapphire Beauty. After years of using relaxers in 2004 Kandice decided to begin her natural hair journey with natural hair by doing with a “big chop”, or cutting off all of her relaxed hair. In that process, Kandice went from shoulder length to one-inch length hair which launched her curly girl natural hair journey.
After the big chop, Kandice learned a great deal about herself and how to manage her sometimes unruly naturally curly, dry hair. Learning the types of product to use to produce a desire result was her biggest challenge.
Today more than a decade into her journey, Kandice can be seen rocking a variety of hair styles; from the wet and wavy to an Oprah Winfrey wash and press. Kandice is continuing in her natural hair journey and wants to share what’s she learned along the way with the Sapphire Beauty clients.
