About the event

SANE in the City is live music, dancing, fun prizes, and silent auction at the historic Hill Center in Capitol Hill. DCFNE’s signature event, SANE in the City celebrates our team of hardworking, dedicated forensic nurses and raises money for our programs. All funds raised through SANE in the City will support DCFNE's programs for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. SANE in the City draws more than 200 nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals, as well as local community members from a wide variety of professions. Our attendees all live and work in the DC metro area and enjoy getting to know new businesses in the region. District of Columbia Forensic Nurse Examiners (DCFNE) is the only nonprofit organization in the District of Columbia dedicated to providing forensic nursing services to victims of crime. DCFNE's nurses are on call 24/7 to address the needs of victims of sexual assault and intimate partner violence in the aftermath of an assault. Forensic nurses offer hope and healing on what may be the worst day of a patient's life, as well as collecting high quality evidence to strengthen the investigations and prosecutions.
