About the event

Roots Millennium Schools take immense pride in announcing the first installment of their largescale Sporting Event; Roots Olympiad 2020, Peshawar. Olympiad 2020 An “Olympiad” consists of various sporting tournaments, where individuals and teams from across the province come to showcase their skills within their areas of interests. Our school harvests an energetic and diverse atmosphere; therefore, we have students capable of great things. Our students have exposure on the big stage, and thus we have come to the conclusion that under the current circumstances, the event that we are most in need of is a sports event. Hosting tournaments over a range of sports; Futsal which is a shorter version of football, basketball, cricket, volleyball and many indoor games such as table tennis, chess, art attack etc. Our aim is to provide a platform, for the athletic population in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, to flourish and succeed in the future, and do it providing a friendly, yet competitive atmosphere. WHO ARE WE? Roots Millennium Schools is a part of Roots School System, functioning for over 27 years as one of Pakistan’s most renowned and prestigious academic institutions. Roots Millennium has been hosting illustrious social and educational events for years now, by which it has gained its title as of one of the best schools and colleges of Pakistan. Lead by Mr. Faisal Mushtaq, Roots Millennium is operating purpose-built, state of the art campuses in 20 cities of Pakistan. Roots Millennium Schools Pakistan is a Cambridge International Examinations associated school, an Edexcel International affiliated school- also an affiliate center of the prestigious University of London International Programmes United Kingdom-is a candidate school for International Baccalaureate IB Middle Years Program, a Microsoft mentor status school 2014, and a member of Goethe-Institute Pasch schools network. Roots Millennium Schools is accredited with Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC Pakistan) and Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.EVENT PROGRAMME DAY 1: The first day will commence with a grand opening ceremony after which the tournament matches for all the proposed sports will begin. Observers and participants will be free to explore the venue. The first day shall end with a Qawalli Night consisting of a well-known performance artist with a bonfire lit to let the participants and observers enjoy themselves to the fullest. DAY 2: The second day shall proceed with the next and final round of tournament matches with all the tournaments coming to an end and the high achievers being decided. The day shall end with a worth-the-wait concert by an international artist. DAY 3: Closing Ceremony and Formal Dinner To conclude, there will be a formal dinner and awards ceremony where we will take the chance to present the individuals and teams with their deserved accolades. The closing ceremony shall also take place at the formal dinner on the same day, where we are expecting Shahid Khan Afridi or the Governor of KP to join us as our chief guest. Representatives of our proud sponsors will also be invited to attend the ceremony. VENUE: The planned venue for the whole event is the Roots Millenium Schools, Khyber Campus, Peshawar itself which is located near Phase Three Chowk, Peshawar. The Qawalli Night and the concert shall also be held at the RMS, Khyber Campus. All sports shall be organized within the campus with the exception of cricket only which will take place at the Hayatabad Sports Complex, Peshawar. As for the closing ceremony, a formal setup will be made by booking a private hall where the dinner and closing ceremony shall take place.
