Road to UDA Nationals,

About the event

The SEHS Dance Team is a positive program for girls in their high school years. They learn many life lessons working as a team, while representing their school and serving the community. During our last two seasons the Stormettes have placed 3^rd and 5^th in the IHSA State Competition and have the honor this year of qualifying for UDA Nationals in Orlando, Florida.  The girls will travel to Florida to compete in the UDA Nationals competition.

To qualify for NDTC the team had to do the following:

1. Receiving a home routine trophy at UDA camp with 7 or more dancers in attendance. 

2. Receiving a Superior Trophy at UDA camp with 7 or more dancers in attendance. 

Why should you sponsor?

The Stormettes dance team is comprised of girls from varying household make-up and incomes.  Regardless of being in a one parent, two parent, or multigenerational household; all team members are upstanding members of the community who always put their education first.  Competition fees, airfare, and accomodations may not be in reach for all members of the team, but the opportunity to showcase their talent at Nationals is a once in a lifetime opportunity.  This is why we are reaching out to potential sponsors.  Once a team, always a team and to not have a dancer go because of financing is heart breaking.  Please consider helping us reach our goal.

Florence Castro

I am a parent who helps our wonderful, self-less Coach Shields with various things to give the girls on the team the best experiences and memories possible.  Until recently, I worked three jobs in order to survive.  We are a multi-generational family who takes care of a grandparent financially, emotionally and physically.  I wouldn't change a thing.  My goal is to exhaust all avenues in order to make the "Road to Nationals" a reality for all the girls on the team.
