About the event
The Rattlesnake Festival began in 1967 as a small Jaycee project in San Antonio, Florida. In 1973, arts and crafts were added as an important part of the event. The Rattlesnake and Gopher Enthusiasts (R.A.G.E., Inc.) managed and grew the event successfully until 2012. From 2012 - 2016, the festival was managed by Rotary Clubs as a fund raiser for local charities and in 2017 the Thomas Promise Foundation stepped in to continue this great community festival. This year the festival will move to the Pasco County Fairgrounds to allow for ease of parking and festival growth, but the traditional activities will remain central to the event.
Food, arts & crafts, live music, wildlife, children’s games, and local history are highlighted each year. Family fun and entertainment are a main focus of the event.
Why should you sponsor?
There are three ways you can sponsor Rattlesnake Festival activities. The General Scholarship and Zone Scholarship refer to the two days of the original festival on October 19 and 20, 2019. Rattlesnake Run Sponsorship which refers to the 41st Annual Run being held the morning of Oct 19, 2019 at San Antonio Park. Look them over and see which one would be right for you.
Whichever way you choose, your commitment to support this festival a fundraiser to help Thomas Promise Foundation feed nutritionally challenged students makes an important and visible statement to our community. It says you care about children in need.
Remember also that The Thomas Promise Foundation, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and your support is tax deductible.
I have been the coordinator for the Rattlesnake Festival since the Thomas Promise Foundation took over the event in 2017. Over the two years since I have been coordinator I have been able to increase attendance, amount of vendors, and event awareness each and every year. I moved the festival last year to a new location that provided even better visibility and parking for the event and we were extremely successful. I also added amusement park rides which were extremly popular This year we have added a Concert the Friday night of the event weekend.
I have been working on and succeding in raising brand awareness of the festival for the past two years. It was been an incredible journey to bring this festival back from the brink of ending (Which it was actually ending before we took it over.) to a thriving festival once more. I am very aggressive with my advertising, promotion, and execution of this event.
