About the event

Young females in our society today struggle when it comes to trying to prove that we have what it takes to become successful. Some of us are first generation college students hoping to give back to our parents who worked so hard after leaving their homeland and place of familiarity to give us a better life with a good education. Others are just individuals who are working more than two jobs just to maintain rent, bills and/or maybe even provide a better life for their children/future children. We are all just simply trying to make it in life as ambitious queens.

"Ambitious Struggles" will be our first event out of the series. There will be food and drink provided, vendors for guest to shop, raffles, activities, a Q&A session, and opportunities for networking with our guest speakers.  
 Our audience will receive the opportunity to hear our guest speakers share remarkable stories of resilience as young women who grew up in urban areas with limited opportunities, who have now grown to be successful today in our society because of their ambition. One of the "potential" guest speakers is Juju from Love & Hip Hop NY.

If you help support our cause, we will be able to continue using our talents and passion to put together events that will help change the dynamic of our urban community, where there is a lack of opportunities for professional development. 

This event series that will help young ambitious queens gain insight, inspiration, advice, confidence and useful information that will help them become successful professionals in our society.

Cindy Chung

We have a sponsorship proposal for this event that is ready to be sent out to anyone who is interested. 

Cindy Chung graduated with honors from CUNY Borough of Manhattan Community College with an A.A. in Communication Studies in June 2014 and CUNY City College with a B.A. in Public Relations/Advertising in June 2017. She discovered her love for Event Planning when she took on a leadership role in CUNY BMCC's Communication Studies Club as she successfully planned and executed various events within small budgets.

After losing a close friend to suicide a year after graduation, Cindy raised over $1650 to fund a suicide awareness memorial concert and donated a portion of the proceeds to Scudder's Intervention Services Foundation Inc. The passion she has for PR rooted from her first internship with Fashion Update, when she crafted creative client pitch letters to bloggers who quickly responded with interest.

Cindy has a proven track record of creating press releases, pitch letters, media lists, event flyers and all things PR and/or Events after completing a variety of internships. After falling in love with the music and entertainment industry at the age of 14, Cindy has committed to strive towards being in the industry. Throughout the growth of her ambitious nature, she is determined to continue to win and conquer every single time an opportunity is presented in her career path.

 

Cindy is a fearless risk-taker who is always hungry for success, ready to take challenges head-on and consistently excel in her work to fulfill any and all expectations.
