  • About the event

    The events are about bringing Creatives together with other type Artists, Entrepreneurs, Organizations and local and Community at large for a celebratory event which offers something for every member of the community and both virtual and physical guests.  We offer something which has not yet been done, but is sorely needed and that is an accessible Film Festival which includes movies, videos, series episodes, business commercials, live performances, awards and vendors.

    We're about working working with our sponsors to raise the profile of "creativity", hard work, dedication, quaility and innovation. We are fast becoming a recongizable brand which gives us influencer status as we promote others, including sponsors and donors.

    Whether in-person, virtual or mobile - a Film Festival holds a very special "magic" and we alter the themes to suit the time of year and the overall needs of the world at large. Just about half of our submitters are returning for the third time, along with organizations, vendors and live performers.  

     

    We filled a void in the creative community and a vacancy in the marketplace and provided a means for a very large number of individuals and groups to meet that had never existed.  We're about bringing everyone together to shine, including our sponsors. 

    Why should you sponsor?

    We began as a live studio with various nights of Jazz, Poetry, RnB, Pop-Up Shopping and Network events.  Movie Nights and Sip & Paints were popular.

    We saw the future and rolled it all into one festive occasion.  Our first festival received wide support and complete attendance leading up to our extraordinary February 2020 Film Festival with standing room only and the full support of of the community at large. The news went viral locally, nationally and internationally. 

    Now we've designed a platform to promote and thank you -before, during and after the festival as our Sponsor - that you too share our mission of providing much needed platforms and events.  We value our sponsors and partners because together we build, support, create change and remain at the forefront. 

    With 3 Film Festivals per year, our goal is to also go mobile, creating a full Expo Experience for Filmmakers, Artists, Performers and Entrepreneurs who have few accessible and elegant celebratory and competitive events.  We created a platform that did not exist and provides something magical for everyone by bringing all peoples and groups together by offering minorities an accessible and affordable platform to see themselves and their peers on the big screen. 

    We attract avid consumers, homeowners, hobbyists, socially conscious, patrons of the arts, community organizations / leaders, non-profits, students, adults, families, couples and the media.  Our local precinct and so many politicians attended to congratulate filmmakers, artists, and vendors. 

    We gave table space the main Public Library, the Queens Historical Society, the Greater Jamaica Merchants Association, etc. to ensure that they too had the opportunity to share in an amazing community event where we boasted 4 talk show Red Carpet Hosts, executives from HBO, Cinemax and Netflix.

    I can only say that I was born creative with a passion for all types of arts and creative activities.  After owning my first brick and mortar business, I returned to school to earn my MBA.  Next came MS.Ed. followed by advance certification in educational supervision.  The desire to pursue the arts and devise a platform which was of inclusive and not segmented - never left.  So, I left education and began the Queens Center Of The Arts in my community where we grew into offering nights of Jazz, Poetry, RnB, Open Mic, Sip & Paint, Entrepreneurs Networking Events and rented space for the same.  The Movie Nights were also popular and then the filmmakers began showing up and the future became vividly clear.   

    After having been invited to perform at Nassau Coliseum and selecting the awardee for the Community Service Award for 2019, we began planning the next Film Festival - without sponsors and with very little support.  I am dedicated and tenacious and it paid off - we built - they came and they keep coming back and we continue to grow and innovate. 

    Queens Underground Film Festivals, a division of Queens Center Of The Arts based in Jamaica, Queens, NY. became possible not only due to my love of the arts, but supported by a  corporate america training ground which segued into entrepreneurship, then into education/supervision and right back into the arts with my son, Christian, an cartoonist.

    We are the 1st ever international multi-genre film festival, the first of it’s kind with Movie Shorts, Music, Poetry and Dance Videos, Web Series Episodes, Small Business Commercials, Community Awards, live performances and a Pop-Up Shop featuring small businesses, Organizations, chefs and designers. Featuring a Red Carpet entrance, and averaging submissions average 12 countries with many filmmakers flying into Queens, NY from other states.

    We deserve to have quality and elegant platforms, conferences, expos and resources for all of the arts and film producers; and we are most certainly capable of designing and supporting our own unique platforms. We offer three annual themed Film Festivals (October, February and April), which are also mobile and virtual. 

    Our immediate needs are sponsors and partners which will enable us to reach more minority up-and-coming and seasoned filmmakers, web series producers artists, musicians, poets, singers and dancers to offer them and guests a dynamic celebratory film festival conference experience.

    I am also an active in the community and in other states as a member of the Queens Chamber Of Commerce, sitting on the Entertainment Committee; L.I. African American Chamber Of Commerce; NAACP; Vice President of the Greater Jamaica Merchants Chamber Of Commerce and a Honorary Board Member of the HUmanity Coalition, sitting on the Entertainment, Education and Social Justice Committees.

We have approximately 10 Categories with 1st and 2nd place Winners for each Category. Receive Credit and have your business Logo promoted in print and across social media before, during and after the Festival for being a Prize / Award sponsor - showing your support for Indy Filmmakers, Musicians, Singers, Dancers, Comedians, Web Series Producers and Small Businesses/Organizations whom submitted Commercials. We speak on your behalf explaining how important it was to you / your company t make sure that the Filmmakers who've worked so hard receive gifts and awards. The gifts and awards will also be shipped with a copy of Playbill and any printed material you forward to send to them. Your generosity will be noted on the Virtual Site and on our Website for three (3) months and mentioned again before the February 2021 Film Festival
