  • About the event

We are excited to bring the Quarry Crusher Run to our 1604 O’Connor Quarry in San Antonio, Texas! This event started at our Vulcan Quarry in South Carolina and is expanding other states. The Quarry Crusher Run is truly like no other race, participants run to the bottom of the quarry and then back to the top.  And if that isn’t enough we have the Double Crusher! Yes, that is right! All the way down and back up TWICE!

    Why should you sponsor?

The Quarry Crusher Run will benefit our Local Community by raising money for Soldier’s Angels- Support our troops. Soldiers' Angels provides aid and comfort to the men and women of the United States Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, their families, and a growing veteran population. "May No Soldier Go Unloved" encapsulates the motivation behind Soldiers' Angels. The volunteers of Soldiers' Angels work tirelessly supporting our nation's veterans, wounded heroes, deployed service members and their families.

    Katy Karlsen

My name is Katy Karlsen. I have been working with Vulcan Materials Company for 5 years in the Human Resources Department. I am passionate about fitness and living a healthy lifestyle. My passion is what interested me in coordinating the Quarry Crusher Run to come to San Antonio. I would like to bring my passion of running and living a healthy lifestyle to my coworkers and the community. I was adopted when I was 12 by my Uncle, who served in the United States Army. Being a part of the military community was a blessing and I experienced and met a lot of great individuals, but I also saw how much support the military community needs. This is the reason I chose Soldier’s Angels as our community charity. All proceeds of this event will be donated to Soldier’s Angels.

Thank you for your time & consideration.
