About the event

Each year in October, Philadelphia becomes the setting for a 20-mile, car-free, bicycle-only joy ride through its most iconic streets and bridges. We work with the city of Philadelphia to completely close the roads and host a safe, non-competitive, community-oriented bike ride that is intentionally designed to be multi-generational and welcome participants of all backgrounds. 

The joy ride concludes with a Finish Festival on the Oval, where participants celebrate together with local eats, music, and engage with brands. Additionally, we are happy to share our local beneficiary of the event, the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia. 

We held our inaugural ride last October - about 3,000 riders participated, and we expect to host more than 6,000 riders in our event this year. We’ve been hosting a similar ride in DC for 7 years now, called the DC Bike Ride, which just hosted 9,500 riders this past September. 

Why should you sponsor?

We have a 95% retention among partners as they find strong ROI and improvement of community awareness in working with us. Further, our rider demographics align heavily for companies in the region. 52% of our participants are male and 46% are female. Additionally, 80% have attained a bachelor's degree and 75% have a household income of $100k or more. Over 80% of our riders live within 100 miles of the start line, making us very hyperlocal. Our event is still young, as it is in its second year. We are looking for sponsors focused on Philly to get involved and make it theirs. 

Aside from the return, the event is a truly memorable experience. Our partners have noted that the opportunity to celebrate alongside the riders during and after at the Finish Festival is what is most valuable. You could make your product or service a part of the Philly Bike Ride event experience, showing the community the support you have for their health, well-being, and city as a whole.

My dad had always been a passionate cyclist and our most fond memories come from riding together in the city. Unfortunately, he got into an accident that prevented him from 'risky riding', such as in popular streets. I have seen the joy from seeing a city he has lived in his whole life like he never has before. I believe in the event because I believe in the power of community. 

I will never push a partner to make a deal that is not right for them or us. What elevates our experience is partners who believe in what we are doing and in turn go all out for it. These are the brands that make a last impacting on our participants.
