This event is an attempt to showcase important aspects of Historically Black Colleges and Universities at our Predominantly White Institution. In the show we are bringing Black greek life (Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated is confirmed thus far, and we also expect other to join) to perform and educate the audience about their organizations. Alongside these performances, we have a UChiColor Pageant to exhibit the Black excellence and intelligence we have on campus.
The Organization of Black Students at the University of Chicago endeavors to build a better understanding of the Black experience that, through students, programming, resources and functions, will permeate our university's community. To sponsor this event means to sponsor the education of Black students on campus.
My name is Kaylee Blanchard, and I am a second-year Biology major with a specialization in Global Health Sciences and Co-Coordinator of this year’s Organization of Black Students (OBS) Cultural Show.
