    Jade Wheatley

A Bilateral Below Knee amputee surfer myself... I have witnessed first hand the incredible health benefits competitive Adaptive (Para) Surfing has on disabled athletes I am currently doing all I can to develop Adaptive Surfing as a high performance global sport, giving the adaptive community a platform to progress and enhance their physical and mental wellbeing. In August 2017 at the Surfing Australia awards I received an honour for my work in organising and executing a project I created, Walk for Waves, a 160km journey walking and surfing along the coastline over 1o days between Newcastle, Australia to Manly to prove my devotion, raise awareness and raise funds for the Australian Adaptive Surfing team to get to the world championship. I have represented my country at 3 world championships and will continue to further the sport through events like this one.
