About the event

The Most Valuable Philanthropist Basketball Awards will take place on Wednesday, June 19, the eve of the NBA draft  in New York City!

The event will feature an inspirational evening of food, networking and an award ceremony as we honor and celebrate professional athletes who are making a significant difference in the community. 2006 NBA Champion Derek Anderson has been confirmed as our 2019 MVP honoree, Bam Adebayo of the Miami Heat will receive the Rising Star award. Dave Sanderson, the last passenger off of the US Airways Flight 1549, will receive the Courage Award in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the “Miracle on the Hudson.”

A portion of proceeds from the event will benefit a charity of the MVP’s choice. VIP ticket holders will receive access to an exclusive reception with the honorees. An estimated 125-150 guests from the business, philanthropy and sports worlds are expected to attend.
