Mia Borders’ MS Society Fundraising Concert is the only event of its kind to benefit the Louisiana Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The LA MS Society works to improve the quality of life for people affected by MS in Louisiana and raises funds for critical MS research. Our event in October 2018 at New Orleans’ historic venue Tipitina’s aims to draw between 250-750 attendees from the southeast Louisiana region in honor of Mia Borders’ late mother, Elizabeth Acosta Borders.
The one-night-only fundraising concert will be held at Tipitina’s New Orleans in October of 2018 (dates on hold are 10/11-14). It will run from 7-10p (on a Thursday or Sunday) or 10p-1a (on a Friday or Saturday). It will feature live music from Mia Borders and her band for a 60-minute set and a headlining band after for a 75-minute set. As we are in the process of finalizing the contract for the headlining band, they have not yet been announced.
Inside, the show will run like a normal concert with a cash bar. Outside, food will be provided by a food truck free of charge to those patrons with the appropriate wristband (included in their ticket purchase).
Tickets will be sold for between $50-75 with a percentage going to the house and the rest going to the Louisiana Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Sponsorship funds will pay for music, catering, and promotion. More details will be provided to all sponsors as they are finalized.
We offer a variety of custom monetary sponsorship options that will give your company at least six months of continued exposure to prospective customers.
Third Coast Entertainment is the latest brainchild of New Orleans singer-songwriter Mia Borders.
Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, Mia Borders’ original music genuinely reflects the oft-referenced melting pot of her hometown. Her catalogue of nine commercial releases spans from 2007’s pop-rock-influenced “the ep” to 2016’s R&B LP “Fever Dreams.”
Heralded locally and nationally as one of New Orleans’ best talents, Borders has been featured on AXS.tv’s coverage of The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, and has performed at such renowned venues as Essence Festival, Brazil’s Bourbon Street Music Festival, House of Blues New Orleans, Tipitina’s, Santa Cruz Blues Fest, Chattanooga’s Night Fall, Voice of the Wetlands, Memphis’ Levitt Shell, Wakarusa, Long’s Park Amphitheater, 2012 Food & Wine Classic, and The Kennedy Center for Performing Arts.
Her live shows are regularly praised as “deeply funky” (USA Today) and “confident and cool” (The Times-Picayune). Borders herself is “a chanteuse of the highest order,” with “miles of style and charisma” (AXS.com). New Orleans’ own Offbeat Magazine applauded Borders and her “great music and great intensity.”
