About the event
Founded in 1926 by famed American Aviator Glenn Curtiss and designed to be wondrous and exotic landscape of visually interconnected buildings inspired by the "Arabian Nights" novels, Opa-Locka was destined to be a standout city. Today, the City celebrated its first-ever permanent musuem installation with the Opa-Locka Heritage Trail, a 15-station interpretive museum walk in the downtown area.
Following this ceremonious morning unveiling, the inaugural MENA Fest regional event will follow: a one-of-a-kind village cultural showcase celebrating the history of Opa-Locka and countries of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The free event, to take place on the grounds of historic city hall, will feature authentic food, entertainment, and art.
