McHappy Day,

Mississauga, Ontario, Canada Mississauga, Ontario, Canada

  • About the event

    McHappy Day Event

This event will be held on May 4th, 2016. During this event we create fun activities

    Every penny counts

Every time you buy a Happy Meal or Mighty Kids Meal, McDonald's donates a penny to support RMHC programs and services, including: Ronald McDonald Houses, Ronald McDonald Family Rooms and Ronald McDonald Care Mobile.

On the day of McHappy Day, There will be $1 taken towards this charity event from every BigMac, Medium coffee, Happy Meal, as well as McHappy day shoe art that is purchased. This event is run yearly and every year we pursue to collect a higher donation than the previous year.

This day is solely focused on providing for the Sick Kids hospital and their families, providing them with rooms that will support and help their children. Through this event, McDonald's focus is on giving and providing to the Ronald McDonald House Charity.

    Ronald McDonald House Charities

Helping families heal together. A labor of love since 1974.

At McDonald's, we care about the well-being of children and families. In 1974, we helped open the first Ronald McDonald House — a “home-away-from-home” just steps away from a hospital for families with sick children. To this day, we stand by RMHC in their mission to provide children with support, stability, and the best medicine of all — their families. Each year, McDonald's proudly helps RMHC impact the lives of nearly 9 million children — both in your community and around the world.

    Helping is easy

Because we know you care about the well-being of children as much as we do, we offer a number of other opportunities for our customers to also support RMHC.

Throughout the year, you can find RMHC Donation Boxes in participating restaurants, where you can contribute directly to RMHC every time you visit. No donation is too small, and every contribution provides strength, hope and healing to families to help their children thrive. In 2014, RMHC Donation Boxes alone raised $27.2 million for RMHC families through your generosity.

This Year the Fundraising event will happen on the day of May 4, 2016, and making donations at The Mcdonalds restaurant by $1 will begin soon in April. Since 2004, our customers have donated $45 million to support RMHC families through our annual fundraisers alone. It takes about $60 to keep one family close. Through your donations, RMHC has been able to help more than 380,000 families stay by their sick child’s side. Together, they’re able to cope better and heal.

You can also participate in the RMHC Day of Change–a one-day fundraising event where you’re encouraged to visit a participating McDonald's Restaurant and help fill the RMHC Donation Boxes. Thank you in advance

At McDonald's, giving is a part of our culture. So whether you're dropping spare change in a RMHC Donation Box, buying a "Heart", or purchasing a Happy Meal or Mighty Kids Meal, you're helping to keep families together during the times they need each other most.

RMHC is at the heart of McDonald's, and together with customers and RMHC supporters like you, together we support RMHC and give back to the communities we serve and make a real difference.

    Why should you sponsor?

As McDonalds, we appreciate all the help to raise as much donation as possible to provide more for the sick Kids and their families. We seek sponsors to support us through this event and help us succeed our goal in raising over $5 Million this year.

    "The More The Merrier"

As the phrase indicates, the more the donations and money raised the better and more supportive and opportunities there will be. As the Ronald McDonald House Charity is primarily done through volunteer and non-paid internships, this community event helps support and provide more space for volunteer work to be done.

As part of a global network of local family restaurants, McDonald’s and our owner-operators are proud to give back to the communities we serve. As I quote Ray Kroc, "None of us is as good as all of us". Working together for better opportunities for growth in our communities.

    Nancy Labib

    About me,

My name is Nancy Labib, i currently work as a swing manager in the Creditview and Eglington avenue McDonald location. I am 21 years old, an undergraduate student at the Ryerson University for the Bachelor of Social Work.

I have had many leadership opportunities co-organized events and coordinated many social and community programs. It is a great honor that i will be organizing the McHappy Day event this year, i have great plans and high hopes, knowing that this year will be a great success and a great impact for the Ronald McDonald House Charity. This is the first time being the primary organizer for the McHappy day event, however, I have been a co-organizer for the past 4 years in this event.

My goal for this year's McHappy Day is to raise double the amount of money we raised last year ( we raised $2,500 and my goal is to raise $5,000) as well as make sure to get the guests and community as engaged and connected as possible.
