Our event is a launch party for our 501(c)(3) licensed charity, Millennial Donors. Millennial Donors was founded to help engage with the 80 million Millennials in the world. Specifically, we help those young adolecents find charities that align with their values.
We are anticipating an attendance of 300 individuals and have 3 bands performing; one of which is a national act.
Marketing: Our main force of marketing is Instagram. We currently operate a private account which will remain private until May 2nd, 2020. At that time, we will have about 175-225 followers. On May 2nd, we will go public and incentivise our attendees to promote your hashtag and tag your account. We will also have a professional photographer on site. We believe that we can get about 125 posts within a 4 hour window which might be enough to get you trending in the Madison, WI, area.
Good Cause: Our venue is allowing us to sell the alcohol and take the profit. This money will be put towards several causes, the main one being planting trees. Whether our sponsor is seltzer or craft beer, we will plant one tree for every drink we sell.
Everything is beneficial: Our board of directors never takes any form of personal payment. Everything we do is on a volunteer basis which means 100% of proceeds go towards making the world a better place.
My name is Payton Mittenzwei and my day job consists of overseeing 600 distributors of espresso equipment throughout the midwest. I often plan promotional events with our distributors and have won "best attendance" 3 years in a row.
In High School, I served as Class President for 4 years and fundraised over $200 per student which was a record for our school. In college, I served as a Resident's Assistant and organized an all-campus event, Coate Bash. That event won an award as the best organized all-campus event for 2011-2012. During the same time, I was recongized for having the highest rate of attendance at events. I also helped start up a new fraternity on campus which went on to partner with several nonprofits in the La Crosse (Wisconsin) area.
Post-graduation I went on to earn my MBA where I studied non-profits. A big topic for us was understanding why Millennials are reluctant to donate. At the beginning of 2019, I sat down with 5 other business minds to create Millennial Donors which was incorporated in August. We are currently in a soft-launch period until our launch party on May 2nd, 2020.
