Rain or shine, fans from different generations have gathered annually in Portland, Oregon, since its founding in 2003.

    As of 2022, Kumoricon boasts a substantial community, with 10,938 paid unique members and a dedicated staff of 551 individuals. The convention aims to provide a unique and immersive experience for attendees, emphasizing interactivity and personalization. Through carefully designed activities and a devotion to the interests of the fans, Kumoricon strives to ensure that every participant walks away with not only a great experience but also new knowledge about their favorite anime, games, and manga.     I am Drew Herget, currently serving as the Director of Relations for the upcoming 2024 Kumoricon event and acting as the Industry Manager during this period. I bring to you not just a role but a genuine commitment to fostering the anime and Japanese Pop Culture community through Kumoricon.

    My journey with Kumoricon began in 2019, marking several years of dedicated involvement with this incredible event. However, my connection to the world of anime and manga predates my official role—I have been a passionate fan since the early 2000s. This personal affinity for the culture has been the driving force behind my active participation and leadership within Kumoricon.

    Beyond the professional title, my story is deeply intertwined with the transformative power of events like Kumoricon. As an ardent fan myself, I understand firsthand the impact that these gatherings can have on individuals. Events such as Kumoricon played a pivotal role in breaking me out of my shell during my formative years. Guest of Honor Sponsorship

The average contribution needed to sponsor a Guest of Honor is between $2,000 - $4,000 per American Guest— which covers airfare and other associated guest hosting expenses. For International Guests, the average contribution is $4,000 - $6,000. For sponsors interested in supporting a Guest of Honor, please contact us early to start the process. Guest of Honor sponsorships will be done on a case-by-case basis and may require additional paperwork, contracts, and negotiations.
