About the event
Journey Enterprises is hosting a 5K in downtown Navasota. It will weave in and out of the streets, drawing attention to the beautiful architecture and homes throughout downtown. We are looking for those that would be willing to sponsor the race.
We want to raise awareness about substance abuse and mental health. The stigma that surrounds these two diseases has always made it harder for those that suffer to openly admit they need help. We want to let it be known that there are those out there that want to help, and want to make sure there are the necessary programs available in the community to provide that help. The 5k is a healthy proactive way for us to do this.
Why should you sponsor?
Navasota is a small community that has been around for 100s of years. It was once a booming area, but because it fell off the map it has gone down hill. The epidemic of substance abuse has risen as well as the mental health of the community. Journey is trying to raise the awareness in the community, trying to get everyone on board to beautify the city. Our main mission is to help those in the community that cannot help themselves by opening a community center for the underserved. In order for us to achieve this goal we are holding events throughout the area, which raises money and awareness. Being a new NP and not yet having our 501c3 we have limited resources when it comes to the upfront costs of these events. A sponsorship would help us immensely with those costs. Not only does it help us, but it also puts your company/organization name on the event. Everyone loves swag bags, especially after a brisk race. We would advertise your company on multiple items, banners, tents, shirts etc. If you decided to become a permanent sponsor we have events lined up for 2019, including another 5k obstacle course, picnic in the park for the 4th of July and a Zen field day to name a few.
Journey Enterprises NP is a new, small nonprofit based out of Navasota, Texas. This nonprofit is geared toward those who are suffering, have suffered or their lives have been affected by someone who has a substance abuse or mental health illness. Our main mission is to build and operate a community center that will provide a safe space for healthy alternatives to substance abuse and mental health diseases. This center will have a gym, yoga studio, art therapy, conference rooms, meeting rooms, to name a few. We are hoping to have this up and running December 2019.
