Jashn-e-Azaadi Maila,

Hamilton, Ontario, Canada Hamilton, Ontario, Canada

  • About the event

The Jashn-e-Azaadi event is an event to celebrate the independence of Pakistan. It is like Canada Day or 4th of July, except for Pakistanis. We were also thinking of combining our event with Canada's 150th birthday and make it a joint sort of event. We wanted our event to be outdoors and were thinking of making it BBQ-type. We want vendors to set up stalls that sell various merchandise - including food. We also want to include stalls like cotton candy, popcorn, henna tattoos, face painting and hope to have a bouncy castle. We also want to hire a musician/band to perform a concert outdoors while our guests walk around to stalls and shop/eat. As a sponsor, your logo would be everywhere. We could wear shirts that display your logo and have banners/posters set up everywhere. We could even have a stall set up just for the promotion of your company.

    Why should you sponsor?

I think a sponsor should support our event because that would show people that they, as a company, support different cultures and that they strive towards diversity and unity. It allows them to market their company/products to a specific demographic (mainly Pakistanis, although there will be more people present) and it just generally gives them a chance to promote themselves to the community.

    Maham Farooq

My name is Maham Farooq. I'm a 23 year-old who just graduated from McMaster University. I have an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree and I joined Jinnah Cultural Society of Hamilton (JCSH) in order to give back to the community, but also be apart of Pakistan in a small way. JCSH hosts many events like this throughout the year and recently have gotten more involved in charity work as well. JCSH is a non-profit organization and the members of this group are all volunteers. None of us get paid and we are all loyal to this group because we believe in what it stands for. We want to spread the culture of Pakistan throughout the community of Hamilton and also bring Pakistanis together. As our organization grows and becomes more popular within Hamilton and maybe even more cities, we hope to have events on a much bigger scale and also do a lot more charity work. In our previous events, we've had organizations sponsor us and have stayed true to our word in having them recognized and having their company/logo promoted at our events.
