About the event
IndiFest, the Indigenous Film Festival of Barcelona is a festival presented as a speaker to give voice to the narratives and identities of indigenous peoples through audiovisuals.
IndiFest has a long history, with 15 years of experience.The festival is coming into its XVI edition.
The festival, with the bulk of activities in the city of Barcelona and online, have the aim of contributing to society making the world a better place, and with the commitment to reduce the impact on the environment. We are committed to the defense and conservation of our natural heritage and to interact with respect for natural resources, in order to become part of a supportive and ecological society.
The IndiFest opens on October 12 and lasts for two weeks, full of activities like face-to-face sessions with screenings, discussions and debates in which guests from the indigenous communities who will travel to Barcelona will participate. Likewise, we organize parallel activities at universities and other spaces, in various municipalities and cities of Catalonia.

IndiFest has a long history, with 15 years of experience. This year we celebrate its 16th edition, which will focus on climate change. We want to make visible, through cinema, the ways of living of indigenous peoples, fully linked to the preservation of the environment, being key agents protecting biodiversity and nature. Likewise, we want to focus on the fact that they are the ones who suffer the worst consequences when they are the ones who have contributed the least to the problem.
IndiFest brings the contributions of indigenous peoples closer to the population for a more just and sustainable social transformation, where everyone can play an essential role in achieving change.
We have Barcelona local presence and also online through our own cinema platform MiradaNativa (miradanativa.org), specialized in indigenous films. We also have submissions and followers from all over the world.

For this reason, the festival not only exhibits the films, but also within the framework of these events, debates are held on the works and the social, economic and political realities that they and their contents reveal and express.
