About the event
IBMS being implemented on the National Highways has yielded a database of bridge assets that require immediate repair/ rehab/ retrofitting or replacement.
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highway (MoRTH) under Setu Bharatam has earmarked over Rs. 30,000 crores for this purpose and the same was officially announced during the launch of Setu Bharatam on 4th March 2016 by Shri. Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport and Highways in the presence of Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi.
IBMS is providing data essential to kick start Ministry flag ship project “Setu Bharatam” for which Ministry has already announced an outlay of over Rs. 30,000 crores for rehab/ repair/ replacement of about 1500 old and distress bridges on National highway network. All these bridges shall be identified by IBMS based on the techno-socio- economic criterions by which the ranking and priority of bridges is decided. Similar efforts are also likely to be undertaken by various state governments as a response to the letter written by Minister for Road, Transport & Highways to various Chief Ministers urging them to set up IBMS in their respective states. This could cascade the downstream project valuation to over Rs.100,000 crores.
IBMS project also provides inputs to ODC/OWC movement to decide which route can be taken for such movement. Based on historical data available, such corridors are identified for which requirements of corridor strengthening is being evaluated. Major corridors will need strengthening to cater to increased load movement. Such bridges will also undergo major rehab/ strengthening works. All the downstream projects resulting out of IBMS will see a major investment and capacity enhancement in many industry segments including chemical manufacturers, cement manufacturers, bridge Appurtenance industry, Bridge rehab specialist and Engineers. Most of these segments do not have sufficient capacity to handle the project volumes as envisaged due to IBMS.
IBMS 2018 invites leading manufacturers and service providers involved in Bridge Engineering to be part of the event and benefit from the exposure and goodwill of being at India’s first conference on Bridge Management System.
Event Supporter is restricted only to 15 Corporate Entities who are part of TEAM IBMS in the ongoing activities of IBMS..
Why should you sponsor?
- Why we are doing this event?
Indian Bridge Management System, IBMS 2018 is all about the Managing the Bridges across the National Highways of the country in order to maintain the serviceable condition of the Bridges. IBMS 18 is kind of event in which we are trying to bring the bridge allied industries like Bridge Bearing Manufacturers, Expansion Joints, Cement, Steel, Construction chemicals (Admixtures), Testing agencies, Retrofitting (Repairing) agencies, Structural Monitoring agencies..etc together, which can form a potential sub group of Infrastructure division of the country.
Before to the Birth of IBMS there was no idea about the numbers and condition of the structures that are existing on our National Highways. After the Successful implementation of IBMS we have identified around 1,60,000 Structures existing on only NH’s out of which 40% of them requires minor to major repairs. The repairing of the same will create sound scope in terms of financial and technical prospectus and helps in importing or developing the advanced technology which can become a major sub group of Infrastructure of the Country.
In one Word to brief very clearly, this conference is being organized to build a bridge between all the bridge engineering related domain to establish advance solution centre for the bridges across the country which creates a financial potential sub division in the infrastructure sector.

Mr. Sachin Joshi - Chief Organiser IBMS 2018
Team Leader and Director (Research) Indian Bridge Management System
IDDC Engineers Pvt Ltd.
All my career has been devoted to Rehabilitation of structures. I have been a team leader to over 2000 inspection, repair and rehabilitation projects. Having seen the various causes of distress so closely and the extent of damage and loss that is caused by ZERO maintenance of various structures, I decided to devote my energy to conceptualize a system that can avoid this scenario. From that urge to minimize distress, came my focus on Asset Management Program. Unfortunately there is none available in India. So my quest to create one such system within the parameters of various codal provisions already in practice.
