About the event
Join us for our very first event since the establishment of the Cambridge University Emirati Society. The launch event will give you a glimpse into the Emirati culture and heritage. Our speakers Peter Hellyer and Timothy Power will talk about some of the most important archaeological discoveries in the United Arab Emirates. The two talks will be followed by a panel discussion and drinks and networking.

Mejd AlsariMejd is an alumna of Lucy Cavendish College at the University of Cambridge. She completed a PhD in Physics in 2019 at the Cavendish Laboratory of the University of Cambridge.
Mejd is continuing her research activities as a postdoc at the Cavendish Laboratory on perovskite materials for solar cell applications.
Mejd is founder and president of the Cambridge University Emirati Society, which is a non-profit organisation run by early career researchers that promotes understanding of and interest in the Emirati and Gulf culture, heritage, and art in Cambridge.
