Harrisburg Vidjam Filmmaking Weekend,

Midtown Cinema, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, United States Midtown Cinema, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, United States

  • About the event

Vidjam is inspired by “game jams“, which are “a gathering of game developers for the purpose of planning, designing, and creating one or more games within a short span of time, usually ranging between 24 and 72 hours” (wikipedia.org). We wanted to bring that collaborative experience to a new medium: filmmaking.

At Vidjam, teams take one suggestion (one theme, one word, one sentence, etc.), chosen at the beginning of the Vidjam event, and are then tasked with developing, writing, filming, and editing their own 4-8 minute short film to be screened in front of a real audience in a 124-seat theater, followed by an awards show and Q&A for the films and filmmakers.  It's an event that has been very popular with both local filmmakers and the community.

This is our third year doing the filmmaking weekend events at Harrisburg's Midtown Cinema.

    Why should you sponsor?

We are looking for sponsors and partners with an interesting in helping to build, develop, and enable storytellers and filmmakers to share their stories and perspective with the local community and the world at large.  We want to provide a platform for filmmakers to share their work, and also provide an opportunity for the community to view, share, and celebrate our local talent.
