About the event

Cakes From Grace Inc. is a non-profit organization created following the passing of our precious daughter, Gracia Lorraine in 2012. Gracie was born August 2, 2012 with a severe congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. 

A few months after Gracie passed in October 2012 I decided I needed to find a way to honor her, share her story and give back to the heart community. Cakes From Grace Inc. was established in March of 2013. What we do is bake cakes from scratch, decorate them by hand with special themes that each heart kiddo chooses and donate them to families with kids that were born with a heart defect. Some of these families are in the hospital for months at a time and it’s so hard on them financially, physically and emotionally. By having a cake made just for them for a special occasion such as a milestone, birthday or to celebrate coming home from the hospital, these parents don’t have to worry about that small expense that doesn’t seem so small to them and it makes these kids’ day. 

Why should you sponsor?

Cakes From Grace Inc. is in need of funding to be able to make cakes for these special kids. Our organization solely depends on donations to purchase supplies and ingredients to make dream cakes and cupcakes. We are also involved with other organizations to raise money for heart research and other non-profits. Throughout the year Cakes From Grace makes thousands of cupcakes to bring to different fundraising events and donates 100% of it’s earnings from the cupcakes to that fundraiser. 

On October 28, 2017 we will be having our annual fundraiser benefitting Cakes From Grace including a 5K race, Kids Fun Run and tons of fun activities for the kiddos! We hope you will consider donating to this year's event. There are several ways you can choose to support Cakes From Grace. Donations to sponsor cakes, facilities, fees for the event, monetary donations or participation in our Family Fun Run would all be thankfully welcomed. Proceeds from this year's Cakes From Grace event will go directly to supplies and ingredient costs for cakes and cupcakes as well as transportation to get the cakes to these heart families. Not only will your donation benefit Cakes From Grace, but it will also benefit you. Here's how:

I am the sole creator of these cakes and get to deliver them to each and every heart kiddo. I am also Gracie's Mama. Forever and always. These cakes are my way of still taking care of her, my way of still celebrating her life. 

When I get to deliver dream cakes to these kiddos in their hospital beds, it means the absolute world to them, it brings them joy. But the best part of getting to deliver them is seeing Mom and Dad's face when they see their kiddo smile for the first time in days or weeks. 

It keeps me going, and I hope it inspires you to help us raise funds to conitnue our mission to brighten these kids' lives! :)
