Toni Belanger

My name is Toni Belanger, wife of Dr. Ted Belanger and the Medical Project Coordinator for the Conscience International Ethiopia Project.

My role with the orginazation is to schedule & coordinate all travel arrangements for the volunteers who go.

This includes coordinating the driver, our airfare & hotel. I also obtain everyones visas for the trip which includes obtaining a letter from the Ethiopian embassy & the hospital in Ethiopia.

As for helping with the surgeries, I help Ted (Dr. Belanger) select all the cases in advance. I then put together the schedule for each day there of who will be having what surgery on which day. I organize a calendar of who is arriving & who is departing from the airport. I coordinate this with our driver.

I have learned to use the hospital in Ethiopias computer system. I put all the orders in for each patient who has or will be having surgery. I coordinate with an assistant to see if the patients will need or already have blood for their surgery. I bring the patients to the operating room the morning of surgery.

I am an acting physician assistant to Ted. I see patients post ops and do their medication, physical therapy, take them to x-ray & make sure we get their post op X-ray pictures, I take pictures of all the patients pre-op and post op & during all the surgeries.

I help get the necessary items ready and help set up the operating room for that days surgery.

I have been doing this for years now.
