This event is a celebration, following our 2 month food drive in Hope's to meet the needs of 50 families here in the Philadelphia area. Our hope is to capitalize on the popularity of the holiday eve, and use it to do some good (often tagged as a "party with a purpose"). We are firming up partnerships with local orgs, but want to pursue all opportunities to make this event successful. Having walked the US on a shoestring budget, and cycled 3 times following to speak on human trafficking, I am no stranger to commitment, and have long been dedicated to my community.
We are doing good. It's difficult to quantify full bellies, and loving family moments -and neither are as appealing at times as an ROI. But that is what we're doing. For years at our own expense, but we are meeting needs, and creating opportunities and will continue to do so.
My name is Joshua Whiteley, but for just over a decade, I've used a pseudonym: Jay Atlas. When performing, or hosting, or promoting, I've used the name -and so, it's become who I am. I have walked and bicycled nearly 14000 miles across the US to speak on human trafficking, and community wellness, and mental health with programs I birthed: The Long Road to Freedom Project -which became, "Worthwhile: GO." Having completed a Tedx in February, I have remained active serving my community & sharing information at a number of events. I intend on completing one final cross country tour before having up my jersey for good. And will resume my efforts to restore Philadelphians, and return to college and become a teacher
