About our event

Garmin Challenge Herning - Nordic Championship is the official Challenge Middle Distance Nordic Championship.

The event gathers over 2000 triathletes from all over Europe, while 35.000 spectators follow the race at first sight. This year, more than 67.000 followed the race on live stream from all over the world.

From 2020 till 2022, Garmin Challenge Herning will host the prestigious Challenge Middle Distance Nordic Championship.

The Race is open for athletes from all over the world, but the championship titles will go the participants from nordic continental countries.

The race focuses on fair race. As the only race in the world, we got X-ray bike check-in, in order to secure fair race on the bike. No motordoping or any other doping when racing Garmin Challenge Herning - Nordic Championship.

The top 3 will be testet by anti-doping Denmark after crossing the finishline.

We value quality over quantity, and seek long lasting relationships with both athletes, sponsors, partners and volunteers. All parts of the eco system around our event is highly valued.

The atmosphere at venue ''lake Fuglsang'' is quiet unique. Beautiful scenerie, 2000 athletes gaining adrenaline, while +10.000 spectators circle around the area, waiting for the gun to go off.

After swim and bike, the party moves to the city center of Herning. Here waits more than 25.000 spectators to cheer the athletes through 21km of running.

Logo on LED Screens - Main venues

This sponsorship package is focusing on visibility at our two giant LED screens, placed on the two main venues at Garmin Challenge Herning - Nordic Championship. The audience is around 35.000 spectators, consisting of athletes, coaches, VIP's, travellers and active local citizens. Venue 1 - Swimstart, T1+T2, EXPO and Festival area (Audience: 10.000) Venue 2 - Finishline, After Race and Festival area (Audience: 15.000) Prior to race start, we got 3 hours of sponsorship activation on our two giant LED screens, showing your logo and promotion videos. The length of promotion videos can maximum be 60 seconds. The video loop will start over every 10 minutes, witch means that your logo and promotion video will be shown minimum 60 times to the audience at our two venues. When the Live coverage ends, we start the video loop again, of which will run until the last athletes has crossed the finishline. We estimate that all athletes will be finished, about 3 hours after the last top 3 pro athletes. That means that your logo and promotion video will be shown 90 times. The total promotion time of your company is 90 minutes. If you want to be visible in the live coverage, we offer the opportunity to be in our sponsor loop there as well. LIVE TV PROMOTION

This sponsorship package is for those wanting direct marketing to the triathletes, coaches and triathlon minded people around the world. Last year, the live coverage reached out to 67.000 viewers, from all over the world. The biggest audience watching the live streaming is europeans. Every 20 minutes, we run the sponsor video loop, consisting of 5x60 seconds promotion videos. The live production runs for minimum 5 hours, which means that you'll get minimum 12 x 60 seconds of direct promotion shown to the world of triathlon. All you need to deliver, is a 60 second promotion video, for us to implement into the sponsor loop.

BIKE COURSE PARTNER

This sponsorship package is for you having a brand that offers products or services related to the bike industri. As a Bike Course Partner, you'll get full exposure on all Transiton zone fencing. You'll get 600m fencing available, for unique branding. You'll get the naming rights for the bike course, and get premium visibility from mount line to dismount line (bike start to bike end). SWIM COURSE PARTNER

This sponsorship package is for you having a brand that offers products or services related to water. More than 10.000 athletes, coaches, VIP's, family & friends and local citizens are watching the 2000 athletes jumping into the water, for them to beat 1900m of swimming. The event is kickstarted with a '' Water & Airshow''. A team of professional jetskiers is doing an action packet freestyle show. 4 stunt planes are doing loops and formation-flying above the lake, while 6 pro jetskiers are doing freestyle on the water right in front of the audience. 5 minutes before the first swim start, parachuters jumps out of a plane 4k above the lake, and slides across with national flags on their bags. The 2000 athletes enter the 21km run course, after beating 1,9km of swimming and 90km og cycling. Then entering the run course, +15.000 spectators will cheer them through 21km of running, on the streets of Herning City. More than 10.000 athletes, coaches, VIP's, family & friends and local citizens are watching the 2000 athletes jumping into the water, for them to beat 1900m of swimming. As a Run Course Partner, you'll get the naming rights for the Run Course, and the opportunity to brand 2500m of premium location fencing. Challenge Denmark is organizing international Challenge Events in Denmark.

For the past 6 years, Challenge Denmark has been hosting both full distance and middle distance Challenge Events in Denmark.

The biggest and oldest Challenge Event in Denmark is Garmin Challenge Herning.

Back in 2016 and 2017, Garmin Challenge Herning was the official Challenge Middle Distance European Championship. In the years of 2020, 2021 and 2022, Garmin Challenge Herning will be the official Challenge Middle Distance Nordic Championship.

Challenge Denmark builds and operates on a foundation of triathletes, family and friends, a local organizer crew and hundreds of volunteers. 

The goal for the 2020 edition of Garmin Challenge Herning - Nordic Championship, is 1500 participants competing on the middle distance, and 520 athletes having fun on the sprint distance, called Challenge For All. The overall goal is 2020 athletes in the year of 2020.
