From London to Jerusalem RIDE2REMEMBER,

About the event

Lately, terrorism hits Europe, the United States of America, Australia, Canada and Africa the same as it hits, for decades, the State of Israel. Terrorist attacks regularly are disturbing our daily lives. All over the World we fear for the lives of our beloved ones. Already, too many families are mourning their loved ones who have fallen victims to terrorism. Terrorism targets all who love life, freedom and democracy. United by loss and grief, by our wish to defend our families, our homes, our way of life, we are all in it together. In this context we are organizing Ride2Remember, the first Ride4Solidarity ride to hit the road in July 2017.It is a motorcycle ride that will begin in the West of free, democratic, progressive Europe, and it will end in the only truly free, democratic, progressive country in Middle East, the State of Israel. The bikers will begin their journey in London, ride through Europe, and end the ride in the Holy City of Jerusalem

Why in July 2017?

– 2017 will be a year of multiple celebrations for the State of Israel and for all Jews around the World

– 100 years since November 1917 when the Balfour Declaration was issued by the British Government

– 70 years since 1947, the year when the United Nations approved the division of Palestine, a decision that allowed the establishment of the State of Israel one year later

– 50 years since the 1967 Six Day War, the liberation of Jerusalem and its opening up to worship by all faiths.

– The 20th edition of the Maccabiah Games (The Olympics of Jewish athletes), first established (in Tel Aviv) in 1932 (when Jewish athletes were banned from participating in international competitions).

In July 2017 thousands of Jewish athletes from around the World will, again fill with joy the sites of the extraordinary City of Jerusalem. Among those events, one which we hope that it will stand out, will be the Ride2Remember, an extraordinary and historic journey that we believe that will capture public imagination: a ride dedicated, in times of joy and celebration, to the memory of the victims of terrorism, to the memory of the Israeli athlets targeted and killed by terrorists in Munchen (45 years ago) a ride to express solidarity with the victims’ families and their loved ones, a ride to celebrate life, hope and peace.

Ride2Remember is being planned to cross through England, France, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece and Israel. Ride2Remeber is also dedicated to Catherine Lurie, the producer of “Back2Berlin” 2015 ride and documentary film and to the fantastic team of bikers that traveled for three weeks from Haifa to Berlin for remembering the Jewish bikers who in the early 30’s of the XX century travelled following the same path for bringing to the Jewish communities in diaspora news from British Palestine. Ride2Remember is open to any motorcycle biker who has a heart that beats for freedom, for respect among people, for life, for democracy, for peace. Our pledge

After covering the basic costs of the journey, details of which will be made publically available, all remaining sums obtained through sponsorship will be donated to organisations which support the families of victims of terrorism in Belgium, France, the UK, Spain and Israel; countries which have suffered under major terrorist attacks.

All funds raised for Ride4Solidarity will be publicly reported, in real time, on our website dedicated to this project. Similarly, all funds used to cover expenses will be clearly and transparently published on our website.

Maximillian Katz

Born in Romania, Maximillian studied and worked in Israel, the US, Africa and Romania. A business manager and administrator, in 2002, Maximillian founded the Center for Monitoring and Combating Antisemitism in Romania (MCA Romania). Maximillian loves to ride his motorcycle, often guiding groups of foreign bikers across the wonderful roads of Romania. In July 2015, Maximillian joined the "Back2Berlin" group of riders. For three weeks, crossing 9 countries, the 11 members of the "Back2Berlin" team traveled from Tel Aviv to Berlin, honoring the memory of the 11 Jewish bikers, who, back in the early 30's of the XX century, left the British ruled Palestine and traveled all over Europe for bringing news from the future State of Israel to the European Jewish Communities. Following "Back2Berlin" ride, Maximillian initiated Ride4Solidarity project and created this site inviting bikers from around the World to join his protest against terrorism.
