About the event
The Euclid Recreation Zombie 5K is not your typical 5K. Runners no longer have to worry about the clock, but instead have to worry about navigating the sprawling course while escaping the grasping clutches of zombies roaming their path.
Each runner, adorned with a life belt will choose their path between the trees, grasses and rubble left in the apocalypitc wasteland. The terrain would be challenging enough but the undead masses have blocked their escape to safety. Runners who succumb to the deadly hoards will finish their journey through the course and be given a zombified medal at the finish. Those couragous enough to withstand the challege with lives remaining will be awarded with a survivors medal.
Once the last runner crosses into the safe zone the Post-Pocalypse Party will begin with music, food and drink. Any zombies (both those who started as one and those who became one during the race) will recieve 1 free drink ticket, while survivors will be able to better refuel themselves with a second drink ticket.
All proceeds from the race will go to the Euclid Youth Scholarship Fund which gives underpriviledged children the ability to participate in programs that they otherwise would be unable to afford. The fund allows for up to a 75% discount on registration fees for qualifiying participants, and purchases equipment for various programs to keep operating costs at a minimum in order to reduce registration costs.
Why should you sponsor?
The Euclid Recreation Department is committed to offering high quality programs at low costs for its residents and the residents of surrounding communities. With your support as a sponsor we can take major steps in continuing to offer these programs at low costs and improve the quality of what we offer.
Along with our commitment to providing awesome programs, we are equally committed to giving back to our sponsors what they deserve. Each race sponsor will receive 2 banners with their name and information on them which will be displayed at the race, as well as at various locations in the community for the following year. Sponsors will have their website linked on the City of Euclid website as well as the Race Site and be mentioned in social media posts.
