  • About the event

EastHacks is a student-run hackathon in the South Jersey area for high school students, hosted by members of Cherry Hill High School East’s Women in Science Organization. The hackathon is an overnight, 24 hour coding event which aims to bring students together to collaborate, create, and learn more about computer science. The event will take place on October 13th to 14th at the Cherry Hill Public Library. During the hackathon, participants will have an entire 24 hours to invent and build a code based project, compete against their fellow peers, and present their product to a panel of judges. The event is open to any high school student, and is free for all participants.

    Why should you sponsor?

Supporting EastHacks will allow your company to network and advertise to over 200 high school students in the South Jersey area. For many participants, EastHacks will be their first hackathon, and we want for it to be an unforgettable experience. This allows your company to make an early impression on these students, and they will associate your company with technology and intuition! Students will be demonstrating their computer science and teamwork skills, which your company will be able to use for recruitment. In addition, your company will have the opportunity to set up booths, distribute swag, run workshops, and send mentors/ Judges.

    Aditi Lohtia

My name is Aditi Lohtia, and I am a recent graduate from Cherry Hill High School East. I will be attending the University of Waterloo as a Computer Engineering Major this Fall. During high school, I was Vice President of the Women in Science Club (WIS), member of the Science National Honors Society (SNHS) and member of DECA.

The idea of EastHacks came up to me when fellow students were interested in participating in a hackathon. Many hackathons are either too far for them to attend, or they do not reach the age minimum. EastHacks is for high school students and high school students only, and allows them to increase their knowledge, and hopefully interest, in programming and the computer science world. I want students to have an idea of what they want to do in the future, and the hackathon provides them with some of that.
