About the event
DIRM is dashing to the lead of infertility awareness by hosting the DIRM Dash 5k Run/Walk. All proceeds from the race will be donated to RESOLVE in honor of National Infertility Awareness Week®.
Delaware Institute for Reproductive Medicine, PA (DIRM), is a leading Infertility & IVF Center specializing in State of the ART treatment for all aspects of male and female infertility as well as other reproductive health issues. DIRM truly is a place where dreams, through science, become reality.
National Infertility Awareness Week® (NIAW) is a movement that began in 1989. The goal of NIAW is to raise awareness about the disease of infertility and encourage the public to understand their reproductive health.
RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association founded this movement and continues to work with the professional family building community, corporate partners, and the media to:
·Ensure that people trying to conceive know the guidelines for seeing a specialist when they are trying to conceive.
·Enhance public understanding that infertility is a disease that needs and deserves attention.
·Educate legislators about the disease of infertility and how it impacts people in their state.
In 2010, National Infertility Awareness Week became a federally recognized health observance by the Department of Health and Human Services.
Why should you sponsor?
Infertility affects approximately 10% of the US population, or 1 in 8 couples of reproductive age.
Infertility treatments are often not covered by insurance, leaving heavy financial burden and additional emotional stress on the affected couple.
Fortunately, there are organizations such as the DIRM Dash 5k and Resolve, attempting to raise awareness and funds to help offset these burdens.
Your sponsorship will help our efforts in raising infertility awareness and offsetting burdens associated with infertility.
As a 501 (c) 3 charitable organization, all donations are tax deductible and greatly appreciated. Tax ID #: 81-4688008
As Practice Administrator of Delaware Institute for Reproductive Medicine (DIRM), I have seen, first hand, the toll infertility diagnostics and treatment has on families. I wanted to do more, I wanted to take Resolve's National Infertility Awareness Week out of our office and into the community. My hope is to make the DIRM Dash 5k an annual event in an effort to raise awareness and help those, both locally and nationally, struggling with infertility.
