Event: Dade vs Broward Food Festival

Description: A food competition between Dade and Broward County. This is an all-sample included ticketed event. Once attendees come in, they will have access to samples from every booth/vendor and will vote for their favorites samples. Winners will be announced at 4:15 PM at the main stage area. This is a 21+ and over event only!

Location: Pegasus Park at Gulfstream Park and Casino, 901 S Federal Hwy, Hallandale Beach, FL 33009

Date: November 16, 2024

Festival Hours: 1 PM – 5 PM (VIP 1-2 PM).

Vender Set Up: anytime between 8 AM – 12 PM. (NO VENDORS WILL BE ALLOWED IN AFTER 12PM)

Judges will be announced; Food Network, Celebrities, Food Bloggers, Culinary Professionals and the attendees will also be able to vote for a People's Choice Award.

Prizes: We will have different categories; specific food, desserts, drinks. The winners will win a trophy and/or belt, a cash prize (TBD) and the title of the best food as well as major bragging rights for your county! You will also have a guaranteed spot for next year's event as well as a free entree to the Palm Beach vs Dade/Broward County Festival.

Vendors must:

·         Bring their own folding tables/set up

·         Bring their own Tents 10 x 10 ONLY. Must be weighted or staked. No cooking allowed under the tents.

·         Decorations/signs for your booth. Creativity is part of the competition and people love a fun table!

·         Cooking utensils or anything required to prepare the dish. Grills, warming oven, etc.

·       Samples of your best dish that will be judged. We will let you know the final number according to ticket sales.

·         NO FOOD SELLING WILL BE ALLOWED. This is a sample and promotion event only.

·         Have COI and Safe Serv certification. Must be sent to us once confirmation of participation is agreed upon.

·         Promotional/Marketing Materials: This is your time to shine! Promote your business by handing out coupons, flyers, incentives to have people come back to your restaurant or book you for their next event, etc.

·         Once confirmed, send us your logo, a picture that best represents your business (could be your headshot, your brick and mortar, food truck, booth, etc. and a quick bio about your business and who you are.

·         A $150 vendor fee. This vendor fee will be donated to the All Family Matters Foundation (helps families that have children with cancer) and the Make a Wish Foundation (to be able to grant a last wish for a child). The total donation will be presented on stage at the end of the award ceremony.

·         Not everyone can be a winner but please bring a winning and positive attitude. We want to create a fierce yet friendly competition. Please bring your A game! Let us show the rest of the world that South Florida does have great food and a multi-cultural culinary scene!  

Our promise to you:

·         We will promote you and your business on our social media channels and on promotional materials leading into the festival as one of the competitors. Collaborations on social media will be accepted.

·         A fair competition. This competition will be judged fairly by different types of judges from different locations throughout the nation. One of our pet peeves are unfair competitions, we will not condone any cheating or unfairness of any kind.

·         Transparency with any questions you may have.

·         We are local professional food bloggers, Influencers and media. We know the best food when we see it and love talking about it! 

·         A great and unique festival experience representing South Florida!

Why should you sponsor?

Having this event has been an idea of mine since the pandemic. I finally put it to work this year, 2024 and hope to realize it on 11/16/24. I am a food blogger with a passion for food and would love to have this event to showcase the south Florida culinary scene. By sponsoring this event, you will help me make it a better event and help me with extra fees associated with the event such as, table and chair rentals, tents, a DJ and entertainment as well as to provide security for the event. I have a vision of an event but did not expect all the extras needed, so helping me would mean the world to me.

Hello! My name is Monica Gonzalez I am a healthcare professional for the past 28 years at the University of Miami with a Masters degree in Healthcare Quality, Innovation and Strategy. I have also been a professional food blooger for the past 10 years and talking about food is my passion.

During the pandemic, I came up with the idea of having a food festival because I wanted to do something for my self. I live in South Florida where two counties always have conflict on which county is better, Dade or Broward. That is how I came up with the concept of Dade vs Broward Food Festival, a food battle between both counties. I wanted to have a food festival where the south Florida culinary scene would shine.

I decided to risk alot on my end. I didn't have the money to have this festival so I have taken out from my retirement and loans. The costs of the event have exceeded what I was expecting so I need all the help I can get for my inaugeral year so I can do this yearly. I know the event will be succsessful and I know pursuing it will take me to the next level. Having a sponsor will relieve the financial stress of this event and help me throw the best food event of the year.
