About the event
The Model United Nations Society of St. Columba’s School, Ashok Place is pleased to announce the return of the much awaited second edition of Columban Model United Nations Conference from the 3rd to the 5th of November, 2017, in the school premises. Throughout the span of the three days, the MUN will act as a platform for rational, diplomatic discourse, hard hitting and intriguing journalism, candid (and sometimes humorous) caricatures and most importantly, for the efforts of all the delegates, reporters, artists and photographers, to culminate in the birth of meaningful resolutions to the matter at hand.
What is an MUN?
A Model United Nations conference or an MUN is a simulation of the UNITED NATIONS where students represent delegates of various nations and institutions in different councils and discuss pressing issues of the world. Students get into the shoes of international leaders and discuss various global and social issues of the world, thereby creating Future Leaders for the world. MUNs enhance the diplomatic, oratory and leadership skills of the students and this allows them to unlock their untapped potential.
ABOUT THE SCHOOL
St. Columba’s School, one of the premier Christian Brother Institutions of India, has been the home of several prominent alumni and we have also been the host of various prestigious events such as the Columban Open Quiz. Upholding the very essence of the Christian Brothers, the school has cared for and has served as a Brotherhood to all those who have been a part of the family. For the past 75 years, we have created an environment which promotes the holistic development of the students, thereby nurturing the future of this proud country.
