About the event
The event is a charity dinner to celebrate the fundraising carried out in the week leading to it, know as Charity Week. The dinner will serve as an opportunity to raise more funds for orphans and needy children, as well as bring awareness to the cause. The evening will be filled with fun, entertainment and food and will hopefully end with a firework display.
Why should you sponsor?
By supporting this event, you will be helping students in maximising their efforts to raise funds, as they will have a spectacular evening to look forward too. Charity Week is an intense week where students voluntarily dedicate their time and efforts to fundraise for a charitable course. This week is situated in term time, meaning students have to balance their workload with their volunteering. Thus, we the organisers believe that both our volunteers and the lovely people who donate and take part in the cause should be rewarded with a spectacular night to celebrate all their efforts.
Madina BengalyI am going to be a second year Mechanical Enginnering student at the University of Exeter. I first got involved with Charity Week during my first year and really fell in love with the cause and how things were done. Because of this love, I started volunteering with Islamic relief (their mother organisation.
This year, I am currently the deputy lead of the South Events team for Charity Week. Thus, it is my job to help institutions organise and in some cases run their events during Charity Week.
I am also the elected president of Exeter Islamic Society, which is a part of the institution my work with Charity Week support.
Since, Charity Week is a sub-unit of Islamic relief, we promote total transparency and accountability. So what you see is essentially what you get.
Furthermore, being a University associated society also adds to the transparency and accountability I abide by. Meaning Sponsors will be kept aware of exactly what their funds has been directed towards.
