Bay County Civic Arena, Bay City, Michigan, United States Bay County Civic Arena, Bay City, Michigan, United States

  • About the event

    Who We Are

Break the Chains Foundation was born out of desperation to help the hurting hearts of those dealing with the wreckage of addiction to heroin and opiates. We aim to create an avenue for grieving families to channel their anger, their hopelessness, and their pain. We want to bring awareness to the severity of this epidemic. Our goal is to bring education on the science behind addiction. Most of all, we want to bring hope to those struggling with addiction and to the loved ones that fight behind the scenes.

    What We Are Doing

Break the Chains Foundation is looking to partner with the community for a Heroin and Opiate

Addiction Awareness Event. This will be held at the Bay County Civic Arena on June 8th, 2019. Our hope is that the community will get together to stand up and fight against this growing epidemic growing in Michigan.

Our hope is through education and awareness, we can counteract the misinformation that is commonly held with addiction and make an impact of change. This event is aimed at providing a day to bring awareness, have guest speakers bringing education, and providing live music. We have teamed up with other compassionate groups who also share this vision.

This is the second year we have held this event in our city. Last year we launched the first awareness event called Break the Chains, Freedom from Addiction, in which we had a very successful turn out. We were able to grab the attention and support of our community as well as partnering other organizations who share our vision. In addition, the local State Police Department partnered with us and shared the stage to giving their perspective about being the first to see the effects of this epidemic. Also, we gained the attention of all the local news stations including WNEM and ABC 12 News. To add, there were over a thousand people come to the event. We truly believe we made a difference, and we are looking forward to an even bigger turn out this year. After the success of last year’s event, we have decided to invest into the future of Break the Chains Foundation. We have applied for our 501(c)3 status, hoping to make Break the Chains Foundation a bigger impact of change in our community.

Break The Chains was born out of desperation to help the hurting hearts of those dealing with the wreckage of addiction to heroin and opiates. To create an avenue for grieving families to channel their anger, their hopelessness and their pain. We wanted to bring awareness to just how bad this epidemic is. To bring education on the science behind addiction. Most of all, we wanted to bring hope to those struggling with addiction and to the loved ones that fight behind the scenes.

This cause is ver personal to me as well as so many others in this community. it doesnt only affect those involved personaly to this epedemic, but everyone that person knows, loves, and comes in contact with.

We have personaly lost family members to this epedemic and have made it our personal mission and fight to stand up and make a difference. To let the world know that someone cares. To let them know that we care.
