About the event

On February 25th, 2017, Sherwood High School will host its annual Bowmen Pageant benefiting Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. This year’s pageant is a competition between 12 contestants and their partners, all of whom are seniors.. We are honored to have been selected to represent our school in this event as Team Christensen.

The event raises money for the Kids Making Miracles program, which benefits Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland, Oregon.  Doernbecher offers the most comprehensive pediatric programs with full-spectrum care for hospitalized children living in our region.  Children from Oregon, Southwest Washington, and beyond make more than 200,000 visits to Doernbecher annually.Money raised through the event t will help change the lives of so many young children in our community.

Why should you sponsor?

Our school’s goal this year is raise at least $30,000 for Kids Making Miracles and Doernbecher, and as a team we are hoping to raise at least $1,500. Many other high schools in our region are making similar goals with their pageants.  Together, we can make a huge impact at the hospital.

One hundred percent of your contribution will go to support children in need and is tax deductible. Any and all funds are encouraged and welcome. In addition to supporting an important cause, sponsorship provides an opportunity to showcase your support in our community. Every donor who contributes over $50 will be listed in the event day program if their contribution is submitted by February 10th and will receive a tax receipt in the mail. Other sponsorship levels are available, with increasing advertising benefits.

Hallie Cordon

My name is Hallie Cordon and I am a senior at Sherwood High School this year. I have worked hard to create a balance between school, physical exercise, and my social life. I have focused on becoming and evolving as a person. Through the outdoors, I have found peace and solace; I love to hike and experience the world from a vertical change in perspective. I find great strength in music and have been a member of Encore, a select youth choir, for two years. I have started a small business using my talents in photography and focus mainly on photographing families. I have completed more than 500 hours of service throughout high school and love serving those around me. I participated in two international service projects by helping create feminine hygiene kits for Days for Girls which strives to bring hygiene awareness to third world countries. I also helped create shoe soles out of used jeans for Sole Hope, an organization that provides children of Uganda with shoes. In my community, I am part of various clubs and organizations, such as NHS, Key Club, and Concert Choir. These have provided me with opportunities to serve locally and to connect with students throughout the United States to share ideas on service.

I am committed to myself and others, and most importantly this cause. As I raise money through the help of sponsors, we can make a huge impact at the hospital.
