Bay 2 Brooklyn Vol. 1: Bridging the Gap,

About the event

Bay 2 Brooklyn is a grassroots initiative to educate and bridge the gap between the west coast (NorCal Bay Area) & east coast and between the older generation & the newer generation of dancers in the street dance style called ‘popping’. This is the first year of a 3-year plan to educate Brooklyn and NYC on different aspects of the Bay Area styles. This year, we have 2 judges from 2 different cities from the Bay sharing their respective flavors and styles. Our 2 guests, Money B & Chuck Powell, will be teaching workshops on their respective flavors & styles on March 25, 2018 as well.
 

Why should you sponsor?

My event should be supported because it can give a great return on investment in the sense that the street dance community is a large community in the hundreds of thousands (possibly millions). This event will be featured on social media where thousands of views will be generated. This gives sponsors a unique marketing opportunity and also the chance to invest in a company/event that is geared towards education and bringing communities together.

Hassan Malik

I'm currently a law professional working for the NYC Law Department. I have my Bsc in Finance from Fordham University. I've always been attracted to the arts from being in my elementary school's art club to foraying into writing and recording music in college and eventually becoming a dancer post-college. I believe in empowering individuals through the arts, specifically dance. I feel like it can teach discipline and be a great form of self-expression. My current goal is to bring the magic that I feel from my mentors in dance from the Bay Area in NorCal to Brooklyn and the greater NYC area
