ASAE Walks,

Ermelo, Mpumalanga, South Africa Ermelo, Mpumalanga, South Africa

  • About the event

Alcohol and other Drug Abuse is on the increase in Mpumalanga especially among the youth and yet the problem has not been given the attention it deserves.

In a bid to prevent drug abuse, a local alcohol and drug abuse awareness walk campaign has been organized to empower alcohol and drug abuse groups with skills and knowledge to resist and fight the substance

Researchers have shown a close link between drug abuse, student academic performance, crime, social justice costs, family disintegration, violence, security threats, HIV/AIDS, poor work productivity, youth life challenges, teenage pregnancies, human trafficking, abuse and poverty.

Alcohol and Substance abuse Education Walks (ASAE Walks) is a walk dedicated to educating the society, especially women, men, young girls and boys about the benefits of an active, healthy life style and correct way of living without any substance abuse.

ASAE Walks will be officially launched on the 25th September 2017 in Ermelo during it’s first walk by Mrs Mpumalanga 2018 Finalist Nompumelelo Kuhlase/Basson

ASAE WALKS:  Mission is to benefit schools, communities and youth through Alcohol and other drug abuse awareness

ASAE WALKS: Aims to stir interest in the youth and school children to get into health and sport careers through giving the bursaries/scholarship in association with other entities and funds raised.  All proceeds are used towards the government school sports needs and scholarships.

ASAE WALKS will hosts 2 or 3 walks in 12 months across the country.  All our walks will be a minimum of 6km’s and every year we will add a kilometer as this will symbolizes growth in the education with regards to stop alcohol and substance abuse.

    Why should you sponsor?

I feel there's a need for sponsor to support my event as I will be raising awareness for drug addicts. I know exactly what those children, parents, husband and wives are going through.  I want to tell them that there's still a light at the end of the tunnel it's not to late to help them as they need physical, spiritual and emotional support.  Together we can do more.

    Caring is sharing
